Billiard (Pool) Lesson 7
The Bridge
There are two most widely used hand bridges in pool. First one is open bridge and second one is closed bridge. Again, there is no hard rule about using one over the other. One player may like to use open bridge while another player may like to use closed bridge. In starting, I personally used to use the open bridge. But later on, I found the closed bridge more reliable in my shooting. In a open bridge, you have to be more careful not to let go the cue stick up freely out of your bridge.
Besides these two bridges, you may have to learn about some other bridges because there will be a time when you may need them.
Rail bridge: shooting over the rail.
Top of the ball bridge: shooting over a ball when the cue ball close to another ball.
