Billiard (Pool) Lesson 6

The break shot is not only an important part of 8 ball or 9 ball game but also it is a very good shot to build your follow through.

Practice shooting a straight break shot with follow through.

Setup the shot as shown above. Try to shoot the cue ball straight to head ball with a follow through.

Try to shoot through the cue ball at least 6 inches or more forward. Meaning, your cue stick should not stop at the point of contact. It should go through the cue ball forward at least 6 inches or more.

Practice this drill until you start feeling a smooth follow through without any hesitation or jurkiness.

It will improve your stroke for other shots including follow shot and draw shot.
