Billiard (Pool) Lesson 5
The previous two practice drills may sound simple, but seriously they are not for a beginner. Now, if you find them hard, it means your foundation stroke shot is missing. So, you need to get back to a foundation drill shot.
Practice shooting a straight shot in a side pocket as shown below.
Setup the shot as shown above. Try to replace the object ball with the cue ball as perfectly as possible with a center cue ball hit.
Do it over and over again for hundreds of time. You will be amazed when you start to get a feeling of your stroke. You might have heard from someone that if you want to stop the cue ball, you need to hit the cue ball below center. But you do not. Trust me.
Practice this drill until you can shoot the object ball without any problem with a minimum drift of the cue ball. But remember to hit the cue ball centerly. Try to get the control of speed on cue ball. I cannot tell you anymore. You have to feel it to know it ; ).
It will improve your shot and stroke amazingly.
